GPE provides outstanding administrative services for graduate students and postdocs that support Tech’s mission of excellence and innovation in education and research.

This unit serves as an advocate for the well-being and interests of graduate students and postdocs among campus constituents and external partners, and provides support to create a supportive and inclusive environment.

• Goal 1: Drive policies and procedures to provide administrative services that are effective and efficient. 
• Goal 2: Provide services and advocacy for the well-being of graduate students and postdocs, focusing on economic, professional, and personal health. 
• Goal 3: Expand portfolio services to our online audience that will support their academic and professional careers.

GPE will provide career and professional development programs for graduate students and postdocs to support their well-being and to help them succeed in their careers at Tech and in their future pursuits.

• Goal 1: Develop a comprehensive program for professional and whole-person development for graduate students and postdocs.
• Goal 2: Increase and encourage the integration of professional development into graduate programs.
• Goal 3: Develop a comprehensive development program open to all faculty, postdocs, and graduate students, with a focus on addressing mentoring and research.

GPE will provide thought leadership for innovation in graduate education and oversight during the development of new programs and courses, when reviewing existing programs and curriculum changes. Here are the future initiative and goals:

• Goal 1: Provide advice and oversight with an emphasis on best practices, compliance, mutual expectations, mentoring, and faculty training.
• Goal 2: Support the creation and offering of flexible educational opportunities for alumni and other post-baccalaureate professionals through engagement in the Institute strategic plans as well as regional, national, and global initiatives.
